Other DD&D stops

Rein's Deli

Mommy and Daddy's favorite by far! A authentic New York style deli in Northeast CT. The best Matzo Ball soup ever! The chicken salad is SO good! The original one burned down when Daddy was in high school, but thankfully they reopened across the street. We are not kidding when we tell you people drive from hours away to eat here. We went on a Thursday in the rain and still waited over 30 minutes for a table. Sarah LOVED the matzo balls!!
Shady Glen

Shady Glen, second best milkshake ever and awesome cheese burgers. They fry the cheese crispy! The place is like a time warp back to the 50's. It hasn't changed at all, the staff still wears the same paper hat and uniforms they wore back in the 70's. It is like Johnny Rockets, but the real deal. We waited even longer here for a table than Rein's. Grampy used to bring Grammy here for ice cream when she was pregnant with Daddy. Probably why Daddy still craves it so bad!
We also had Wooster Street pizza, from the world famous Wooster Street in New Haven CT, it was delicious! Our next visit we plan on visiting with the fam in good old Gloucester MA, where Daddy spent every summer as a kid, so look for our Seafood edition of DD&D next year!
